Faith Community and New Church Development Action Team
Marian Carruth is the Faith Community and New Church Development Action Team leader. Contact her at mscarruth@aol.com.
The Faith Community and New Church Development Action Team is charged with the responsibility of working with the Bishop and Cabinet to launch new faith communities aimed at reaching people for Christ and producing authentic Christian disciples. Marian Carruth is the Action Team Leader.
A faith community is defined as "a worship experience linked to a discipling system." Our goal over this Quadrennium (2009-2012) is to launch fifty new, vibrant, diverse faith communities across the Annual Conference. To achieve this goal, a combined effort of Conference leadership and local churches to multiply new ministries will be necessary.
The primary role of the Action Team is to identify, assess, equip, deploy and coach both clergy and lay church planters who have the passion, spiritual gifts and maturity to launch healthy new faith communities. Our goal is to identify, nurture and deploy individuals suited to this very important “apostolic” work. Ultimately, the goal
of the team will be creating a culture of growth through multiplication of new faith communities in an effort to produce a whole new generation of healthy, growing and fruitful congregations.
