The Leadership Development Action Team facilitates conversation between the Bishop, Cabinet, Board of Ordained Ministry and the Board of Laity to identify leadership characteristics and skills as they relate to both lay and clergy leaders. In an effort to create an environment of understanding, cooperation and collaboration, the Team is in an ongoing process of guiding a shared conversation related to the following topics:  

 

1.   Assessing current and future lay and clergy leadership needs of the Annual Conference.

 

2.   Identifying the availability of models of Annual Conference strategies, training, resourcing and networking for the development of key skill sets for current lay and clergy leaders.

 

3.   Assessing future deployment trends and needs of the Annual Conference and recommend best principles, practices and strategies for clergy recruitment being modeled in other Annual Conferences.

 

4.   Facilitating the development of future lay and clergy leaders and recommend qualified candidates for deployment as Certified Lay Speakers and Certified Lay Ministers.
