2008 Journal of the Memphis Annual Conference

The Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church requires that each annual conference produce and maintain a Journal.  The Journal contains all of the actions of the annual conference's most recent annual meeting.

Within the Journal are the following items:  You may link to the Adobe Page File when you click on the underlined sections.  Some sections are not available on the website for confidentiality issues of clergy and laity famillies.  This information may be obtained by ordering a copy of the printed 2008 Journal for $25.00 from the Conference Secretary (see address below.  Make your check payable to the Memphis Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church)  The book contains a DVD which features the ministries of the Memphis Annual Conference.

• The officers of the annual conference with their contact information.
• The directory of the clergy members of the annual conference. (Unavailable to the public)
• The directory of the lay members of the annual conference. (Unavailable to the public)
• The minutes and actions of the annual conference.
• Reports from boards and agencies of the annual conference that were received and approved at the conference session. (includes the approved budget for 2009)
• The pastoral records of the clergy members of the conference.
• Memorials for those who died during 2008
• The minimum compensation to be paid by each local church within the annual conference. (unavailable to the public)
• The statistical information about each local church from the previous year.
• The annual audit report of the finances of the annual conference.

The Journal is printed each year, and a copy is sent to each delegate of the conference, the agencies of the church, and is made avaiable here online.
