Society of Saint Andrew: Since its founding in 1979, the Society of St. Andrew has worked to fulfill the mandate of the Gospel by striving to adhere to the words of I John 3:18: "Let us love not only in words, but in deed and in truth." The mission of the Society of Saint Andrew is to introduce people to God's grace in Jesus Christ through meeting their hungers: Food for the body, God's word for the spirit, Community of love for the heart, Opportunity for those who desire action. Tennessee Hunters for The Hungry: Memphis Conference UMMen have furnished hundreds of thousand of servings of nutritious red meat to the needy through this ministry. Local hunters harvest local deer for local residents who don't have enough to eat. Only $40 will pay to have one deer (approximately 40 pounds of venison) processed. Many West Tennessee soup kitchens have benefited from donations by United Methodists.
